my gaming clan still actively plays d2, out of my entire 80 ish people friend's list, only 10 or so even still log on, and according to my clanmates that still play it, it's still alive and well. on the other hand, we have guildwars. poorly balanced pvp, worn out repetitive pve, and a whiny community.

The games 10 years old and Blizzard still somewhat cares about it, and it still receives updates. When they announced D3, D2 was sold out in stores everywhere. After all the duping, exploits, and years that D2 has been through, the game still has a pretty solid playerbase. Thinking D2 is dead is more than laughable.

Exactly, still alive and well, and in less than half the time, guildwars already went to shit.

Just goes to show that Blizzard knows how to make quality games, which is why I will always purchase a Blizzard game before an ANet game.

I have tried going back to D2, remade my account, even got characters to 50+, but it total warn out, maybe its because i played it so much, from beta to umm well 05 that it just go old for me. Not to mention all my friends all gone too.

alive, yes, boring, yes...Guildwars, alive, yes, don't play pvp so don't care, love pve, still going after almost 5 years, get my points? Ya some people are whiny in the community, so that works.

Don't get me wrong, D3 look great, and i will if things don't inter fear most likely buy it as well. But till anet does something total stupid to completely lose my faith i will stick with them. Blizzard on the other hand did lose my faith ...But just remember Gw2 will most likely be out before D3... Of course both game could have setbacks and such, though D3 has already plenty.

Definitely Diablo 3. It'll be a far better game. Plus, like Faer said, GW2 will suck for a few weeks/months before they make it playable.

I got a paladin to level 82 in a week, and a sorc to level 83 in a couple days. Still a very fun game.

I think both games will be great, i can't say that one will be better then the other because both games style are different. But I think Both games will suck the first few week/months because people will find all the stuff that the company's didn't fix.

As for D2 and leveling, not that hard now because people can rush you and all that stuff, i don't find it fun anymore, like i said, one reason is because all the people that i played with are gone.

Still pick GW2 any day over D3, even with the current information given from both games.

Guild Wars 2, hack and slash games don't hold my interest for long.

Ehh it depends. If GW2 turns out like other MMOs with their dull 1v1 combat as you grind through the levels it won't be able to hold my interest for very long. The kill a few enemies then sit for a minute style of gameplay is bad, so very very bad, when compared to a hack and slash game like Diablo where you walk into a room and down a dozen enemies in a matter of seconds.

I just hope Anet remembers that their game was a success and they don't need to tweak very much.

And you think Anet remembers it NOW? If so, they must be having a blackout. For the last... 3 years or so.

I'd rather they do all of their experimenting with the first game to ensure the sequel doesn't carry those blackouts. They should have a good idea by now of what keeps people interested and playing their game.

I'll be playing whichever one turns out more fun.

I kinda wish that games were more like toys, though, so then I could play with both of them together!

Both are set to come out sometime in 2011, that's all we know.

Actually, no. Diablo 3 will come out after Starcraft 2, "some time in the future". But hey, at least we know they won't rush the game until they're ready.

fixed camera on d3 is a big let down imo. but d3 will definitely be more of a button masher. unless i hate what i c with gw2, i'll prob get both.
